MyComputerCareer’s 2017 Award Winners

There is a lot to celebrate when looking back on this previous year and the accomplishments of the many students that certified, graduated and started working in the Information Technology field. With each year’s close, we celebrate our student successes, as well as the many people that helped each of these students obtain success. We celebrate our employee’s successes with the presentation of MyComputerCareer’s 2017 Award Winners!

Each department has a hand in every student that walks through the door. There is someone, somewhere that is sitting in their car listening to the radio or scrolling through social media and happen to see or hear the call to change their life, or at least check out their options. Then that same person calls the contact center to get more information and schedules an appointment on campus to meet with the campus team and learn more about the programs. They sit with the Admissions team and learn about the program, then they meet with Financial Aid and learn about their financing options and what they may qualify for with student aid or loans. Through that process, the potential student becomes a part of the MyComputerCareer family by enrolling into the program. They start classes and work with an Instructor to gain the knowledge to pass their certifications. The student meets with Career Services to get ready for their new job search, through revising their resume, working through mock interviews and learning how to network. They head into the on-site testing center to pass their certifications, where their Office Administration team proctors their exams and high-fives them when they pass! That same student meets with their Campus Management team when they need motivation to keep moving. The list of staff and the involvement that they have with our students goes on and on.

We celebrate everyone that plays a part in creating an atmosphere of hope, joy and success for our students. Each year the leaders of each team come together to look at each one of their team members and through different criteria select their ‘Employee of the Year’.  Please help us in congratulating the following 2017 award winners at MyComputerCareer!

Campus of the Year: Columbus Campus

The Columbus Campus joined the MyComputerCareer family in 2012. The campus is centrally located in Westerville, Ohio off of Polaris Parkway. When speaking with a student that is currently attending or has attended this campus, the campus culture is often mentioned. We have heard many times that the campus staff provides an atmosphere that resembles a second family. Through their support, encouragement and motivation, the campus team is able to support their students through the various obstacles that often take place when one goes back to school for a career change. The Columbus team is a cohesive team. They are not just coworkers, but truly value each role that one another plays in the student journey. Successful student outcomes are not because of one person, but because of everyone coming together all fighting for the same goal.

Campus Director of the Year: Mike Sanfilipo of the Columbus Campus

Michael SanFilipo has 35 years of campus management experience.  His passion is assisting students in achieving their career goals and to empower them to seek and obtain opportunities that they never thought possible; benefiting themselves and their families.  He started out in admissions, helping students understand the need for school and helping out as they entered school.  Now he has the wonderful opportunity to hand them their diplomas in front of their family and friends, at their graduation.  What he enjoys the most about his career in education, is knowing that years later,  his past students have grown their careers and that many of them are successful managers, leaders and business owners.  Mike says, “I knew I would never develop the next cure for cancer, but, I know I play a vital part, helping individuals achieve personally fulfilling, and financially rewarding careers, that benefit them for a lifetime.”
