The Military Missions in Action Golf Tournament

Success relies on how you run your business. But it helps a lot when you work in a community and country that supports you. And no company in America would be where it is today without the brave women and men who put their lives on the line for the protection and safety of all of us at home.

That’s why we at MyComputerCareer believe in helping and honoring our men and women at arms. It’s also one of the reasons we provide veterans’ programs to our students, and why we took part in the Military Missions in Action Golf Tournament this November. Here’s how we were able to thank them for their service.

What is the Tee-Off for the Troops Golf Classic?

Tee-Off for the Troops is a now annual golf tournament held for the ninth consecutive time traditionally in North Carolina. The event hosted over thirty private businesses and raised almost $100,000 for veterans and military personnel still on active duty overseas. It was a complete success.

The event was the brainchild of Military Missions in Action organization, with which MyComputerCareer has collaborated on many similar events. And we will continue to do so in the future.

How MyComputerCareer took part in the event?

It was an honor for us to take part in this year’s event and contribute as much as we could to our veterans and military. As a sponsorship event, this time around we chose to sponsor the Score Board at the tournament, on which our team’s name found its place.

The MyCC Golf team had four members. Darren Nelson (Executive Director of Compliance), the team captain and traditional representative at golfing tournaments led the way, with Kevin Galati (VP of Campus Operations), Neal Ackerman (VP of Enrollment), and Josh Davis (Executive Director of Student Services) at his side. The team did well but most importantly had fun at a good cause.

In addition to our golf team, many of our employees also took part in the event. As volunteers, they helped organize various aspects of the event to ensure all participants and visitors had a good time.

About Military Missions in Action

MMA is a nonprofit working across North Carolina to provide help and support to veterans and people in the military in general. With events, like the Tee-Off for the Troops, they not only raise awareness about veterans and their importance to the community, but also the sacrifice they had to make to protect our country. Please visit their website to find out more about the organization and how you can help make a difference.

MyComputerCareer has a long-standing tradition of helping veterans and active servicewomen and men as they protect our homeland. It is one of the reasons we have created the Veteran’s program on our campus, and continue to involve ourselves in charitable events which you can read about on our blog.
