FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Tony Galati, Founder & CEO of MyComputerCareer.edu, Releases Statement about Today’s Closing of ITT Technical Institutes
HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — Sept. 6, 2016 — Tony Galati, founder and Chief Executive Officer of MyComputerCareer.edu, today issued the following statement about the closing of ITT Technical Institutes (and its parent company, ITT Educational Services, Inc.):
“We are deeply distressed by today’s announcement that ITT Technical Institutes is closing its doors on over 130 locations nationwide, as well as the circumstances that led to that decision,” Galati said. “Nevertheless, what I am mostly concerned about is the negative impact this will likely have on over 45,000 students and 8,000 ITT-Tech employees.
“While MyComputerCareer.edu focuses on certification training as a key to Information Technology sector employment, we understand the important role of for-profit schools like ITT-Tech that offer degree programs for adult learners and others who want additional general education. Unfortunately, there are now tens of thousands of displaced students across the country looking to re-start or advance their careers in the I.T. world. So on this troubling day, I extend my condolences to these future I.T professionals as well as my offer to assist them in any way we can help them stay on course and achieve their educational and professional goals. To help offset transfer costs we’ll be offering ITT-Tech students tuition credits of up to 37% should they choose to enroll at MyComputerCareer.”
Since 2008, MyComputerCareer.edu has helped adult learners make career transitions through I.T. training that leads to professional certifications from Microsoft, Cisco Systems, CompTIA, and EC-Council. These four organizations provide some of the most sought-after and rigorous certification programs in the world. MyComputerCareer.edu has found that many of its students find employment in the I.T. industry within a few months of enrolling and most even before completing studies with the for-profit-school. Additionally, MyComputerCareer.edu provides lifetime job placement assistance to its graduates. Students become eligible for placement by earning two or more I.T. certifications, and graduates can earn up to 14 certifications (depending on their choice of studies).
