MyComputerCareer Celebrates Nearly 1200 Graduates in April Ceremony

Spring graduating class demonstrates continued growth in demand for IT skills training and alternative education pathways

Apex, N.C. – April 16, 2025 – MyComputerCareer, an online and in-campus technical college, celebrated the achievements of nearly 1200 graduates across all campuses during its virtual graduation ceremony Saturday, April 5, at noon. The class – comprising graduates from the Information Technology Security and Administration (ITSA), Cyber Security Specialist (CSS), Cyber Security Engineer (CSE), Cyber Warrior, and Associate Degree programs – reflects the ongoing demand for IT skills-training and workforce development alternatives in higher education.

In his heartfelt address to graduates, Founder Tony Galati emphasized the exceptional nature of their achievement: “It is not common for people who are stuck in a dead-end job or simply aren’t happy with the way their life is going to take control of that situation. You decided not to be satisfied with the status quo. You decided to take control of your future, and when this curriculum got really hard, you stuck with it.”

The landscape of higher education is changing. With traditional higher education facing increasing scrutiny, the demand for skills-development and workforce training alternatives has never been stronger. MyComputerCareer’s accelerated programs and industry-recognized certifications provide a practical pathway for career changers and those seeking to enter the IT field without a traditional four-year degree.

Director of Alumni Services Kelly Dowling highlighted the school’s commitment to graduate success: “We have alumni benefits and services to support you on your journey, like our Career Services team. They can help you refine that resume, set up interviews, and help you land your dream career.”

During its 16-year history, MyComputerCareer has equipped more than 27,000 graduates with the skills and resources needed for success, resulting in alumni working for some of the top tech companies across the country. The school continues to welcome students with no former experience in IT, and graduates represent diverse backgrounds – from hospitality to retail to military service.

Reflecting on the ceremony, newly appointed CEO Amy Onuska lauded MyCC graduates and the decision to improve their lives: “Many people procrastinate but you decided to stop waiting and took a leap of faith by putting your trust and future in the hands of a group of people you barely knew. On April 5 your commitment not to settle was on display for friends, family and future employers alike, and I have no doubt this is just the beginning of a very rewarding journey.”

MyComputerCareer is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training and provides entry-level IT foundational courses and advanced programs for students. The school’s comprehensive curriculum now includes the updated CompTIA SecurityX course and the new CompTIA A+ 1200 series, incorporating AI features to keep skills relevant in today’s IT landscape.
