Apex, N.C. – Dec. 9, 2024 – It’s no secret that students from all backgrounds are, at the very least, considering learning paths that don’t follow the 2- and 4-year models of old. Today’s student is looking for options, and for many one of those options includes skills-training designed to move them into possible careers faster, and more affordably. On Saturday, Dec. 7, MyComputerCareer celebrated 1198 skills-warriors across all programs who championed this alternative learning path.
The class – made up of graduates from the school’s Information Technology Security and Administration (ITSA), Cyber Security Specialist (CSS), Cyber Security Engineer (CSE), Cyber Warrior, and Associate’s Degree programs – completed a demanding program and dedicated themselves to hitting the finish line hoping to change their lives. This message was reinforced by CEO Tony Galati in his virtual address where he praised their resolve and drive.
“In your program you might have had obstacles pop up, yet you stuck with it, overcame any fears, pushed through those obstacles and barriers and here you are today where we can celebrate your success,” Galati said. “It makes me happy to know you have moved forward in a positive way. Today you are a graduate of a very rigorous program. Today, you are all alumni of MyComputerCareer.”
The virtual ceremony also featured remarks from President Amy Onuska, Regional Director of Texas Operations Jarvis Hill, Director of Alumni Services Kelly Dowling, and Chief Marketing Officer Bruce Ackerman.
Since opening its doors in 2007, MyComputerCareer has equipped more than 27,000 graduates with the skills and resources needed for success, resulting in alumni working for some of the top tech companies across the country. In fact, the online and in-campus technical college added more than 3850 graduates to that number this year alone, an increase from more than 2950 in 2023. The school welcomes students with no former experience or training in IT, and graduates come from a broad range of backgrounds – from hospitality to retail to stay-at-home parents.
MyComputerCareer is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education & Training and provides entry-level IT foundational courses and advanced programs for students. So far this year, students have earned more than 5900 IT certifications during their journeys to graduate and find possible careers in the industry.
